Property Description and Facilities


Accommodation comprises eight ensuite bedrooms, all of which are non smoking. All rooms are spotlessly clean and well equipped with, tea/coffee, hairdryers etc., together with many thoughtful extras.

Hardwick House is located is a quiet conservation area of Stratford upon Avon, only a short walk to town centre, shops, restaurants and Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

There is free parking both off road and roadside, so why not leave your car and explore the town on foot? Shakespeare's Birthplace is only a five minute walk from Hardwick House.

Warwick Castle and The Cotswolds are only a short drive away.

There is full waitress service in our attractive, airy dining room, where you can relax and enjoy a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast.

Hardwick House is completely non smoking and we regret that we cannot accept pets (guide dogs excepted).

Location and Local Amenities

Stratford-upon-Avon is situated in the 'Heart of England' and is an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside. The Cotswolds are a short drive away as is Warwick, Oxford, Worcester, Cheltenham and Birmingham.

Warwick Castle is a 15 minute drive away from Stratford-upon-Avon. The castle is a fine example of Mediaeval England and has many fascinating exhibitions.

There are many National Trust properties nearby such as Packwood House, Coughton Court, Charlecote Park and Hidcote Manor, to name just a few.

There are five Shakespearean Properties to visit, the three in town are Shakespeare's Birthplace, Nash House, and Hall's Croft. The two properties out of town are Anne Hatthaway's Cottage and Mary Arden's House. There is a bus tour that will take you to all the properties and also out to Warwick Castle.

There are many superb restaurants and pubs in Stratford-upon-Avon, we would be happy to make reccommendations and reservations for our guests. 

Stratford-upon-Avon is the home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatres and the Royal Shakespeare Company, plays are performed most days throughout the year.

Hardwick House is a short walk to the Canal, where you can stroll along the tow path watching the narrow boats negotiating the locks. The River Avon runs through the town, where you can hire a rowing boat or take a motor boat trip or simply sit and watch, and on some summers days listen to the bands playing at the bandstand on the banks of the river.

By Car:- M40 J15, take the A46 then A439 signed Stratford-upon-Avon. The turn right immediately after the 30mph sign into St. Gregory's Road, proceed up St. Gregory's Road for 300yards and turn 1st right into Avenue Road, Hardwick House is on this corner.
