Home to the highest peak south of the Scottish border, Gwynedd and Snowdonia National Park offer a paradise for walkers and ramblers. And if you like castles then visit the Tudor Gwydir Castle, in Llanrwst or Dolbadarn Castle, a tall round keep overlooking Lake Padarn in Llanberis. For more historical attractions and for good shopping facilities, take a trip to the cathedral city of Bangor on the Menai Straits overlooking Anglesey.
