Welcome to Region Centre Val de Loire: The Centre Region of France is made up of six departments - CHER (18), EURE ET LOIRE (28), INDRE (36), INDRE ET LOIRE (37), LOIRET (45), LOIR ET CHER (41).

The Centre is a very large region spreading as far north as just west of Paris and as far south as the exact centre of France (the Indre and Cher). The Centre is known for many things - it has a large portion of the Loire Valley running through with its many chateaux built from the 15th to the 18th centuries; it has several wine regions including Loire, Vouvray, Sancerre, Tourraine, Reuilly, Pouilly-Fumé and several more; it is an area rich in culture and history.

The landscape is rich and varied - flatter in the north and rolling hedge-lined fields and woodlands in the south. There are several major rivers - the Indre, Cher, Creuse, Vienne and of course they all lead in to the Loire which ultimately ends up at Nantes before it becomes an estuary in to the Atlantic.

There are several major cities waiting to be explored including Châtres, Orleans, Tours and Bourges all alive with entertainment, culture and great shopping facilities. Wherever you visit in the centre, it is also very easy to travel by train to Paris for an even greater French City Experience.
