Palm Villa has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard and is located in a residential street just five minutes' walk from the shops, bars and restaurants of St Jean d'Angély. So, after a hectic day on the beach or sightseeing, why not stroll into town for a meal and sample the local beer or wine without the hassle of driving? The house was built in the 1950's and has the feel of an old fashioned seaside villa but with all of the benefits of modern day living.

The main double bedroom has a balcony overlooking the rooftops of St Jean d'Angély - a great place to enjoy an aperitif. Both double bedrooms have beautiful old French furniture. The third bedroom has 2 single beds and the option of a cot if required. The house has wooden floors throughout. There is a large garden to the rear of the property with mature apple trees and plenty of seating areas both in sunshine and in shade. |

Location and Local Amenities |

St. Jean D’Angely is a thriving market town just off the A10 motorway (Paris to Spain) and boasts many excellent restaurants, bars, shops, boating on the river Charente and a leisure centre with two pools, jacuzzi, gym, sauna and sunbathing area. The market is open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings offering a wide variety of local fresh produce (you can even stock up with your bacon at the English stall whilst here!)
15 minutes away is the pretty town of St. Savinien, set on the river Charente this is an ideal place to hire a riverboat or if you have children take them out on a miniature ferry or paddle steamer on the boating lake. The nearest beaches of Royan or La Rochelle are 40 minutes away.
La Rochelle is an elegant and trendy town where you can take a boat trip round the islands including Fort Boyard or just relax with a cold beer in the old port and watch the world go by. The island of Ile de Ré can be reached over a toll bridge offering a quaint view of life from a bygone age and is the perfect place to enjoy the local oysters. Futuroscope theme park is located in Poitiers (1 hour away) and Puy du Fou theme park is about 2 hours away. Both are an excellent day out! |

St Jean has a regular bus and train service to the nearby town of Saintes which is on a main line. By ferry, 4h30 from St Malo. 6h from Caen or Le Havre. 8h from Calais.
