Location and Local Amenities

Isle of Purbeck 4 miles from Swanage and 6 miles from Bournemouth (via the chain ferry which goes from Shell Bay to Sandbanks every 20 minutes).

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty under the control of the National Trust the countryside and shoreline abound with wildlife. A paradise for walkers and cyclists (which can be hired nearby). The famous steam train runs from Swanage to Corfe Castle and there are numerous attractions within a 20-mile radius of Studland.

Beach huts may be hired from the National Trust and the beach is very close to Vine Cottage. The local shop caters for day-to-day needs - from daily papers, Post Office services and off-licence to a good range of groceries and ready homemade meals. Price includes bed linen.

Train service to London or Southampton regularly from Wareham or Bournemouth (30minutes away by car). Ferry runs every 20 minutes and more frequently at weekends and when busy.
