These ETC rated 4 star cottages, originally built as barns in the late 18th century, and situated in the grounds of the owner’s house, have been recently modernised, furnished and equipped to high standards, providing superb accommodation whilst maintaining their historic character, charm and features.

“Nook” & “Cranny” each have their own patio and seating areas overlooking the orchard and gardens with beautiful views across the meadows and farmland leading to the Axe valley.

 

The “non smoking” accommodation comprises of a porch leading to an attractive open plan lounge/dining room with modern fitted kitchen area. Stairs lead to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Both cottages are equipped with a TV, video, CD, cassette and radio players and have dedicated parking. Children welcome, cots and highchairs provided, linen provided free of charge. Guide dogs welcome.

Location and Local Amenities

This little known, unspoilt area of outstanding natural beauty, sits on the borders of Dorset and Devon; Lyme Bay, which,  with its’ superb coastal and country scenery and outstanding geology is justly designated a World Heritage Site.

Explore the ancient country villages such as Colyton or the coastal resorts of Seaton, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis and the charming fishing village of Beer, come inland to the carpet town of Axminster or the “lace town” of Honiton, each has it’s own special charm.

At the end of the day, relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of “Old Symes” gardens or saunter to one of the two village pubs for a meal and a drink, then return home and count the sheep before retiring for the night.
