Property Description and Facilities

The "Brantwood" Hotel being the principal building of a small estate, is an attractive country residence, dating back to the early18th century.

Its old worlde charm with oak beams and log fires, conjures an atmosphere of the past with the comforts of the present. Reputedly an early Quaker meeting place, Brantwood sits in the middle of the picturesque village of Stainton.

The Hotel has been owned and run by the Harvey family for the past twenty years. Their aim is to provide a high standard of food whether it be in elegant restaurant or on the cosy bar for a less formal meal.

The hotel is ideally suited for a tour base of the lakes or for the overnight stop over.To get to the Hotel you drive through the arch way to the large secure car park at the  rear where a warm welcome awaits you.

Conveniently situated for the Motorway  M6 junc 40.

Location and Local Amenities

There are many of historic places within a short drive of the hotel. These include the dramatic waterfall of Aira Force, historic Dalemain House and Hutton in the Forest, the landscapes of Eden Valley, breathtaking Kirkstone path and the beauty of the Cumbrian Mountains. Also with in easy motoring distance are Carlisle Cathedral. Hadrian's Wall and Gretna Green.
 

Within walking distance is the world known Lilliput Lane, where the hand paint the model cottages. There is also the Alpaca centre where they breed Alpacas for there wool where you can buy jumpers etc. The Beatrix Potter Gallery, Wordsworth Home and John Ruskins “Brantwood” are some of the many other places to visit. There is also in walking distance “Lilliput lane” (manufactures small hand painted cottages). Also the Alpaca centre where you can buy clothing made on premises.
