Location and Local Amenities

Ten minutes walk into the historical tiny market town of Alston, with it's cobbled streets and cinging stairways, has a number of pubs, hotels, bistros bars ext. offering good food for all pockets, narrow-gauge railway and a number of mining museums near by.  Lake District Hadrian's Wall, Durham and Rural Northumbria are a short drive away.

Many Historical house, museums, craft shops are nearby, or just take a stroll along the beautiful South Tyne river or high into the Pennines to the summit of Cross Fell the highest point in the Pennines, a relaxing ride on the South Tyne railway. In June visit near by Teesdale to see the meadows in full bloom with it's wealth of wild flowers.
