Property Description and Facilities

Haf House is detached, with its own 1/2 acre garden and field facing south west across the countryside to Constantine and the Lizard. The front of the house opens into a planted courtyard, with our own house and studio forming the two other sides of the square.

Haf House is designed to retain the generous proportions of the original barn and milking parlour, with floor length arched windows, cross beamed ceilings and whitewashed stone walls.

In the furnishing and layout, there is an emphasis on light and colour and, above all, comfort. The house is heated with a wood-burning stove and gas central heating with cast iron radiators.

The accommodation is arranged on one floor, to sleep 4-5 in two bedrooms, with two bathrooms.

The entrance to the house is through a tiled hall, with play area, washing machine and drying space. There is a bathroom with wc off the hall.

The corridor from the hall leads past a twin bedded room (3ft beds) into the 30 ft living room, with comfortable chairs, and a sprung triple seater sofa bed.

At one end of this room is the kitchen, constructed in stainless steel, beech and slate. In the dining area, the Victorian oak dining table seats up to eight people. A half glazed door leads into the garden. The triple aspect second bedroom, with king sized bed and en-suite wc and shower room, leads off the living room.

Haf House is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, electric built in cooker, electric hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board, etc. There is also a television, and video tape recorder.

The garden has a small furnished terraced area, with a barbeque. There is also a pretty summer house to write your novel in, and a site for a campfire.

Location and Local Amenities

Haf House was recently converted from one of a courtyard of nineteeth century barns which once served Tresahor Vean Farm. The farm is situated at the end of a quarter mile track bordering the Jobs River Valley. Seven acres of fields and newly planted woodland now make up our holding, with a tiny brook marking the west boundary. The footpath from the farm takes you two miles over fields and bluebell woods to the village of Constantine. The Helford River and the coast are four miles away.

The house is a peaceful and luxurious base for holidays at any time of the year. It is situated in one of the more secluded and beautiful parts of Cornwall, but all that the county has to offer is within easy access.

There are the coastal walks, the coves and bays of the Helford and the Lizard, or further south, the turquoise and white Porthcurno beaches, or the big surf of the North Coast.

The Eden Project, the Tate, the famous semi- tropical gardens of the Helford and the Falmouth National Maritime Museum are all within reach, but you may also like to discover the little Georgian towns, the galleries and studios, the organic brewery, the lobsters brought by boat to your beach cafe. . . .

... or you needn’t move at all - just relax in the garden of Haf House, enjoying the tranquillity and the birdlife and the view over the Lizard, We do have a darkroom and a painting studio, should you want to make use of them.....otherwise we will leave you in peace!
